State of play: 2022 Repco Supercars Championship grid

Amid one of the most turbulent silly seasons in recent memory, the 2022 grid is all but set in stone.

Just three seats remain unfilled on the 2022 grid; two at Brad Jones Racing, and one at Kelly Grove Racing.

On Tuesday alone, Bryce Fullwood was confirmed at BJR, with Nick Percat shifting to Walkinshaw Andretti United.

Cameron Waters' long-awaited Tickford Racing contract extension was announced on Monday.

Matt Stone Racing confirmed Wednesday that Jack Le Brocq will partner the returning Todd Hazelwood next season. Both drivers have signed multi-year deals.

The only 2021 driver yet to have his 2022 plans confirmed is Zane Goddard, who recently announced his MSR exit. Current teammate Jake Kostecki will race for Tickford next season.

Fullwood joins fellow recruit Andre Heimgartner at BJR, which has yet to confirm the status of its two remaining cars.

However, with Jack Smith's family Racing Entitlements Contract underpinning the #4 entry, and with Macauley Jones indicating he is keen to race on, BJR's line-up is all but set.

That leaves Kelly Grove Racing - which will enter 2022 under its new solely-Grove ownership - needing a teammate for incumbent David Reynolds.

Heimgartner will leave the team for BJR, having won the Braeside outfit's first win in its Grove guise at The Bend Motorsport Park in May.

Matthew Payne recently tested with KGR at Winton

The team has put a high price on Grove junior Matthew Payne, with the Kiwi teen locked in for the remainder of the ongoing Super2 season.

Kelly Grove Racing has formally applied for a Superlicence exemption for Payne in the hope he can race in 2022.

Payne recently sampled both a Nissan Altima and Ford Mustang at Winton as part of a driver evaluation.

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo. The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.
