James Golding and Jake Kostecki will return to their karting roots at this weekend's Australian Kart Championship.
More than 300 competitors will descend on the Emerald Karting Club for the penultimate round of the 2022 season.
Fresh off his return to the Repco Supercars Championship field, Golding will line up in the Elite KZ2 class with Kostecki to compete in the X30 category.
The PremiAir Racing driver has been a regular karting competitor over the past few years, finishing on the podium twice this season to sit third overall.
“Competing in the Australian Kart Championship has been a great way to keep me in shape and I’m excited to get to Emerald this weekend,” Golding said.
“The racing is intense, and everything happens so quickly when you’re in a KZ kart which helps me with my other racing.
“There’s so much talent around in Australian karting, from the kids in the Cadet classes right through to the KZ2 class.
“They are great events to not only compete at but also watch some of the youngsters coming through.”
Kostecki has once again made his return to competitive go-karting a family affair with brother Kurt set to form Jake’s pit crew for the meet, with the duo camping onsite for the weekend.
Younger brother Jay will also be competing in the Cadet 9 class following his victory in the NT Kart Championship earlier this month.
Round four sees three days of racing across eight categories.
Practice begins on Friday ahead of qualifying and heat races on Saturday.
The 2022 season will resume at the OTR SuperSprint on July 30-31. Purchase your tickets now.
