Brad Jones Racing could be forced into a test day reshuffle following Jaxon Evans’ Tasmania crash on Sunday, with the rookie's car set for repairs.

BJR celebrated a well-deserved podium in Race 18 for Bryce Fullwood, who avoided drama at the front of the race to finish third.

It was Fullwood’s first podium with the team in 80 starts since joining in 2022, and the team’s second of the season following Andre Heimgartner’s Taupō victory.

However, the team is now set to undertake repairs on Evans’ damaged Chevrolet, after the Kiwi collided with fellow rookie Aaron Love midway through Sunday’s race.

Love was penalised over the incident that saw Evans clout the wall over the crest at Turn 1, with the SCT Logistics Supercar picking up left-side damage.

When asked about the damage immediately after the race, team owner Jones said: “Well, if it was a wheelbarrow it would be perfect because it has only got three wheels on it.

“We have got a test next week but I’m not sure the car will be ready by then, so we’ll go home and reassess it and work out where we go.

“But it looks like there is a bit of work to be done to it, for sure.”

BJR has two full test days up its sleeve, with the team initially planning on running at Winton Motor Raceway on August 27 and September 3.

However, repairs to Evans’ car could yet force a change, with the team facing a short turnaround to its first test.

Evans had initially restarted the race in 15th after a strong pit stop by his crew, but "argy-bargy” after the restart dropped him down the field and ultimately into fateful battle with Love.

"The way the race played out after the first Safety Car period, pit stop was good by the guys. We jumped a couple people that had to double stack,” Evans said.

"Got caught up in a bit of the argy-bargy stuff down the mid pack, and then unfortunately, got sent exit stage left at Turn 1, and I hit the fence and didn't finish the race.

"So obviously, very disappointed to not finish, but more so disappointed for the workload that that's put on the team ahead of our test day in a couple of weeks, or in a week in a bit.

"So hopefully we can get that sorted and fixed and get back on track and focus on the enduros with Dean [Fiore]."
