Armed with a new car and in the wake of a strong finish to 2025, Andre Heimgartner feels Brad Jones Racing is heading in the right direction to deliver what was left on the table last season.

Heimgartner was the lead BJR driver in the championship for a third straight season, finishing 10th overall after rounding out the year with rounded out the year with four consecutive top 10s across the Gold Coast and Adelaide rounds.

It was a stark contrast to his start to 2024, with Heimgartner claiming six top 10s in his first 20 races.

That run included a shock victory on home soil at Taupō, where Heimgartner again proved his status as one of Supercars' best drivers in the rain.

Heimgartner completed a new-car shakedown at Winton Motor Raceway on Wednesday, with the 29-year-old feeling the weight of the support from his team and naming rights partner R&J Batteries.

The Kiwi was pleased to secure a top 10 championship finish in 2024 despite enduring a rollercoaster season, and has targeted overall victory in Taupō as a big goal for the new year.

Heimgartner missed out on the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy last year by just six points, with then Dick Johnson Racing driver Anton De Pasquale taking the chocolates.

“Coming into 2025 with a new chassis, new livery and the support from the team at R&J gives us a lot of confidence that we’re going in the right direction,” he said.

“I went into the off-season feeling that there was more on the table for us which just adds to the fire in the belly for this year.

“Can’t wait to get racing and for some of the big events of this year. Returning to Taupō will be special and we all have our eye on the JR Trophy, that’s a big goal for this year.

"We came close in 2024, we were just a couple of points short in the end but that’s one that would be quite nice to win.”

Heimgartner's new-look R&J Batteries Camaro will roll out at the pre-season test day at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 19, and Thrifty Sydney 500 - Opening Round on February 21-23.

Tickets for the test day and Sydney 500 - Opening Round are available now.
