V8 Supercars driver Tim Slade has revealed a bold new design for the Supercheap Auto Racing Commodore that he'll race this month at his home event, the season-opening Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

The new-look Commodore, which was unveiled today at the Supercheap Auto Racing workshop in Clayton, near Melbourne, features a much brighter yellow and red look - complete with black highlights.

Slade will naturally be hoping the 2015 Supercheap Auto Commodore will allow him to fight at the front of the world's most competitive touring car series.

The South Australian came tantalisingly close to tasting the victory champagne last year with podiums at Winton, the Gold Coast and Sydney.

Slade also showed his steel strength in Sydney last year, when he diced for the lead with six-time champion Jamie Whincup for 16 laps.

Supercheap Auto Racing Managing Director Adrian Burgess said the team was in good shape to secure top results in this year.

"We're delighted to launch the Supercheap Auto Racing Commodore, which not only looks great but should be quick on track as well," Burgess said.

"Tim proved last year in Sydney that we have the ability to take the fight to the front, and with the work the team put in over the off-season we're hoping we can build on that and get some great results."

Slade said he's feeling confident and relaxed ahead of the new V8 season, his second with the Supercheap Auto Holden team.

"We finished off last year relatively well, so I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running and getting some solid results straight up for 2015," Slade said.

"It will be great to break the duck, and get a race win on the board. There would be no better way to start the year if I can do that at my home event, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide - I'd be a very happy boy, indeed."

Slade will be on-track in the #47 Supercheap Auto VF Commodore at this weekend's V8 SuperTest, held at Sydney Motorsport Park from February 7-8.

The team has already confirmed that experienced endurancedriver Tony D'Alberto will again pair with Slade for the PIRTEK Enduro Cup.
