This year’s event will include some of the most popular off-track initiatives that were introduced in 2019 will return as well as the popular family-friendly SuperKids zone.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard says there is a lot of excitement around the return in 2022 of one of Supercars marquee events.

"The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 attracts people from all over the globe for a reason. Sun, surf, sand and Supercars; you couldn’t ask for more in one location." Howard said.

"It’s so much more than just fast cars and the thrill of the competition, it’s about putting on a sporting and entertainment spectacle for everyone and showing the very best that the Gold Coast has to offer as a world-class destination.

"We’ve got a new naming rights sponsor on board for this iconic event and can’t wait to show off Gold Coast to the rest of the world on the final weekend in October."

Queensland Tourism and Sport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 was a quintessentially Gold Coast event.

"It’s terrific to welcome the Supercars back to the Gold Coast," Hinchliffe said.

"The famous beachside, Surfers Paradise street circuit and enthusiastic spectators are what makes the Gold Coast 500 an iconic Australian and international motorsport event.

"After the pandemic’s cancelation of the 2021 and 2020 rounds, we know there’s pent-up demand for great motorsport on the Gold Coast.

"The Queensland Government backs major events like the Gold Coast 500 because they bring visitors, as well as broadcast TV exposure for the entire region."

This year’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will feature some of the best support categories in Australia including the Porsche Carrera Cup, V8 SuperUtes and for the first time since the days of IndyCar the event will feature big open wheeler racing with the inaugural Gold Coast round of the S5000 series.

Race week activities will again include the famous Supercars’ transporters making their way through Main Beach’s Tedder Ave.

The Supercars drivers signing session will also return on Thursday 27 October along the famous Surfers Paradise beachfront esplanade where fans can meet their favourite stars ahead of a huge weekend of racing.
