Thomas Randle will carry a new Castrol livery on his Tickford Mustang from this weekend’s NTI Townsville 500.
The Castrol brand, which backs Randle’s #55 Ford Mustang, underwent a logo revamp this year.
It was the first such update to the iconic Castrol logo in nearly two decades, and symbolised the brand’s commitment to innovation.
According to Castrol, the new logo — a more modern, dynamic and vibrant design — signalled a step forward for the brand.
It’s the second change for Tickford for Townsville, with Declan Fraser switching to his #777 for this weekend’s round.
New Castrol branding will also take place at the Turn 4/5 section of the Reid Park Street Circuit.
“The Castrol brand has always been intrinsically linked with motorsport,” Jotika Prasad, Castrol Marketing Director ANZ, said.
“It’s incredibly exciting to see Castrol’s new brand identity represented for the first time anywhere in the world on a Supercar.
“Castrol’s new brand identity is a symbol of our focus on the future, and our commitment to forging new opportunities for growth and success.
“That ambition and commitment to succeed is something that Castrol shares with Thomas and the entire Tickford team.”
Randle has been backed by Castrol for years, with the company first backing him in Supercars in his 2021 wildcard appearances.
“I think this design embodies Castrol’s commitment to pushing boundaries and driving innovation, both on and off the track” Randle said.
“I’m excited to be debuting it here at Townsville this weekend.
“Castorl has always been synonymous with quality and performance, and the reference design truly captures the spirit of their brand.
“I’m honoured to be driving the Castrol Racing Mustang and can’t wait to see how the fans respond to the new look.”
Supercars will hit the track at the NTI Townsville 500 on Friday for Practice 1 at 10:10am.
