Todd Hazelwood is set to return in 2025 as a gun-for-hire co-driver, after striking gold at Bathurst in his first year out of the full-time game.

After being let go by the Blanchard Racing Team, Erebus Motorsport signed Hazelwood alongside Brodie Kostecki, with the duo dominating last weekend's Repco Bathurst 1000 from pole position.

Having impressed substituting for the absent Kostecki at the first two rounds, Hazelwood had expressed his desire to get back into a full-time drive. However, speaking in August, insisted it would have to be a competitive ride.

Following his Bathurst breakthrough, which was his maiden Supercars win in 195 starts, Hazelwood suggested his immediate focus is now securing co-drive opportunities capable of producing wins.

Hazelwood was on a one-year deal with Erebus, with Kostecki signing with Dick Johnson Racing for 2025.

The 2017 Super2 champion previously raced for BRT, Matt Stone Racing and Brad Jones Racing in Supercars, and could conceivably follow Kostecki to DJR.

Tim Slade will become the latest full-time driver to become a leading co-driver, with Scott Pye already making waves with Triple Eight.

“If I keep winning Bathurst with Brodie, I probably won’t entertain it,” he joked.

“Look, we’ll see what happens. For me next year, I’d love to try keep co-driving, I'm enjoying racing again, that’s a big thing for me.

“I’ve been at the top tier of the sport as a full-time driver, but surround myself with a top team, good environment, and an opportunity to win two races, that’s what I’ll keep doing.

“And I’ll enjoy my racing, doing some other things next year, I’ve got a big program lined up for next season, so I’d like to see what I can do.”

When asked if he would like Hazelwood to follow him to DJR, however, Kostecki was coy: “Next year’s next year, I’m going in the moment right now.”

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 25-27. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
