There were some cracking races in 2021, with 12 events held at seven different venues.

Shane van Gisbergen and Red Bull Ampol Racing ran away with the chocolates.

However, several drivers scored silverware in 2021, some doing it the hard way.

Supercars.com lists the first five of the best 10 races of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.

10) Race 9, OTR SuperSprint

Andre Heimgartner surfed his way to a maiden race win in 161 attempts on a wet and wild day at The Bend Motorsport Park.

Heimgartner won from pole and enjoyed a comfortable margin over Chaz Mostert despite copping a penalty for an unsafe release.

9) Race 18, WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint

No mercy between teammates: Race 18 Recap

Shane van Gisbergen emerged victorious in a ding-dong battle with teammate Jamie Whincup in Townsville.

Van Gisbergen stole the previous weekend’s wins from Whincup, but the tables turned at the sprint event.

In the end, the #97 beat home the #88, but not after some robust racing and paint-rubbing.

8) Race 8, Beaurepaires Tasmania SuperSprint

Mania in Tassie: Race 8 Recap

Chaz Mostert scored his first race win for Walkinshaw Andretti United in the Tasmania finale in April.

Cameron Waters scored both Sunday poles but was powerless to prevent Mostert to racing into the lead.

There were spirited battles behind Mostert for the minor placings, with Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison filling the podium.

7) Race 11, OTR SuperSprint

Waters got his own back in Tailem Bend with a third career victory in Race 11.

The Tickford Racing driver held out van Gisbergen in a thrilling closing-laps battle to secure his second solo driver victory.

6) Race 19, WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint

It was deja vu in Townsville, with Waters again holding out van Gisbergen.

Luck favoured Waters in the form of a perfectly-timed Safety Car, with Davison the biggest loser.

Van Gisbergen clambered over Davison and set off after Waters, but couldn’t deny the Ford man a second win in as many days.

The 13-event 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle next year. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The 13-round draft calendar was released during the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend.
