Supercars' return to North Queensland in 2024 will kick off with the annual NTI Transporter Parade on Wednesday 3 July, when transporters carrying more than $25 million dollars’ worth of Supercars will make their way to the circuit through the streets of Townsville.

The transporters will begin their journey from midday, turning from Webb Drive onto Ingham Road.

The procession carrying all 24 Repco Supercars Championship Mustangs and Camaros will then continue on in front of fans, before making a left turn onto Percy Street.

As the parade continues along Bundock Street, fans will be able to cheer on and wave at their favourite teams at various popular intersections, including Howitt Street, Warburton Street, Eyre Street, and crossing the popular George Roberts Bridge.

The procession will make its way onto Saunders Street, passing by Townsville Stadium and then turning into the Reid Park circuit precinct.

In addition to the transporter parade, a dedicated Fan Zone will be established at the Townsville sign in Central Park near Palmer Street.

Supercars Logistics Manager and lead truck driver in the parade Jason Routley said: “The Townsville transporter parade is one of the best of the year, it’s an honour to be a part of for all Supercars’ teams.

“Every truckie looks forward to seeing fans old and new along the route to the circuit to really kick off our event celebrations.

“We encourage local fans and visitors to get to the Fan Zone near Palmer Street, it’s one of the best vantage points to see all the transporters and there will be something there for the whole family on the day.

“Some of the teams travel close to 2500km to get to Townsville each year and seeing fans lining the streets to welcome them to town is always a great way to cap off the trip and officially begin the NTI Townsville 500.”

The NTI Townsville 500 is the biggest annual sporting event in North Queensland and has become a staple on the Australian sporting calendar since it began in 2009.

The Thursday of the event will be headlined by the inaugural Track to Town in Townsville, which will see all cars drive through the city streets.

Three of the biggest music acts in Australia, Tones And I, G Flip and Cyril, will perform on the evening of Saturday 6 July, at the NTI Townsville 500 within the circuit precinct. Concert entry is free with any Saturday ticket and children of all ages are welcome to attend.
