Will Brown is in the box seat for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, but insists he can't take a backwards step with the title on the line in Adelaide.

Brown is 180 points ahead of Triple Eight teammate Broc Feeney with 300 left to win across the final two races of the season.

The Queenslander could clinch the crown in the Saturday race, but has already had a taste of how pressure can unwind performance following his Saturday crash in Surfers Paradise last week.

Brown crashed late in Race 21 qualifying and started 11th, helping Feeney claw back crucial points.

On Sunday, Brown returned and qualified second, shrugging off steering dramas to race to the podium and, importantly, finish ahead of Feeney.

When asked if he is thinking about his approach to Adelaide, Brown reiterated his point made before the Gold Coast weekend, saying: "No, not really, I think I'll go there and try and win a race.

"At the end of the day, you qualify up the front, you stay out of the mess.

"Qualifying second today and running second all day, I wasn't really any chance, well there's always a chance, of getting caught up in any crashes.

"There's no point going there and trying to be conservative. I'll try and qualify as far up as I can, and try and win another race."

Feeney needs a Brown slip-up to win the title, and believes the championship is his teammate's to lose.

"I think if you said that at the start of the weekend, I would have taken that, considering the last year's been pretty tough here,” Feeney told Supercars.com's Schick Cool Down Lap podcast.

“But look, we don't come here to get two thirds. We come here to try and win both races. I think we had a really fast car today. Unfortunately for me, the last three or four rounds, if we qualified a couple of rows higher, the result would have been a bit better.

"It's probably more Will versus himself now, you know, I'm certainly a very long shot at the moment. So for me, Adelaide, just go and try and win a couple of races, finish the year off on a high and try and learn for this Finals series next year.

"So I'm excited. I really love Adelaide, one of my favourite tracks. It's such a good event. So excited to get back there.”

Brown and Feeney will fight for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship at the VAILO Adelaide 500 from November 14-17. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
