On the eve of the NTI Townsville 500, Supercars has recognised several key women in Australasian motorsport in a Women in Motorsport breakfast, held Thursday morning in The Ville.

The Repco Supercars Championship has officially landed in the North Queensland for the championship’s 15th year of racing in Townsville which kicks off with practice tomorrow.

Hosted by Fox Sports journalist Jess Yates, the breakfast event brought together stakeholders, commercial partners, and attendees of all ages to celebrate some of the women leading the charge in Supercars and the Dunlop Series.

Speaking with panellists from competition, organisational, and governmental backgrounds, over half a dozen of the foremost women at this weekend’s race event discussed their experiences and aspirations for the growing impact women are having in the Supercars Paddock.

Special guests on stage included Kim McConnie (Group Executive of Marketing for Tourism & Events Queensland), Tracey Woodbry (Supercars General Manager - Corporate Experiences), Rachael Eggleston (Team Owner and Manager, Eggleston Motorsport), Emily Dickson (Media Manager, Shell V-Power Racing Team) and Cassidy Giles (Apprentice Technician, Penrite Racing).

All spoke about their varying experiences as either women currently working in motorsport, or as those who have observed the increased presence of and importance of women in motorsport over many years both in Supercars and abroad.

The women and dozens more will be in action across the weekend at the NTI Townsville 500 playing critical roles in pit lane, behind the wheel, and across the grounds in what will be an historic weekend for Supercars in North Queensland.

Live coverage of Supercars’ NTI Townsville 500 begins Friday on Foxtel and Kayo. The Seven Network and 7plus will broadcast live on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets including general admission, grandstand and corporate hospitality are still available through Supercars.com.

Any ticket that grants access to the circuit on Saturday will include access to the blockbuster performances that evening by Tones And I, G Flip and Cyril.
