KILOMETRES COMPLETED BY GEN3 PROTOTYPES IN 2022: 11,372
The Gen3 prototypes have travelled across Australia in 2022, sampling a variety of different circuits as part of its testing programme.
From Queensland Raceway to Symmons Plains and Townsville's Reid Park Street Circuit, the Gen3 prototypes have been put through their paces.
Combined the General Motors Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Ford Mustang GT (sixth and seventh generation models) have completed more than 11,000 kilometres.
The Gen3 prototypes rolled out for a final test day of the year last Monday, ahead of their 2023 championship debut in Newcastle.
NUMBER OF TIK TOK FOLLOWERS: 155,600
Supercars joined the Tik Tok party in 2021, launching its official account ahead of July's NTI Townsville 500.
Since then the channel has grown rapidly, reaching 100,000 followers in November 2022.
As of December 23 2022, more than 155,600 accounts are following Supercars official Tik Tok account.
Tickford Racing repairing James Courtney's bent bonnet at the Gold Coast 500 is a popular video, attracting 6.4 million views.
AVERAGE AGE OF SUPERCARS DRIVERS: 30
The average age of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship field is 30.32 years.
James Courtney is the oldest active full-time driver at 42 years old, and Red Bull Ampol Racing's Broc Feeney is the youngest full-time driver at 20.
SHORTEST RACE (BY TIME): 34 minutes
The OTR SuperSprint saw the shortest race of the season, at 34:00.4156.
Shane van Gisbergen won a shortened Race 22 at the Bend Motorsport Park in July, following Thomas Randle's and Andre Heimgartner's shocking start line crash.
The 24-lap sprint was shortened to 22 at the restart, van Gisbergen eventually prevailing over Chaz Mostert by 2.5737s.
Unsurprisingly, the Repco Bathurst 1000 remains Supercars' longest race of the season at 6 hours, 41 minutes, and 53 seconds.
In 2022, the 161-lap race, the 30th race of the season, started at 11:15am local time (AEDT) on Sunday October 9.
Last year’s race, held on Sunday December 5, was the latest ever Great Race at 12:15pm local time.
HOW MANY DRIVERS FINISHED EVERY RACE: 6
Out of 25 drivers on the Repco Supercars Championship grid, just six have finished all 34 races in 2022.
Shane van Gisbergen, Cam Waters, Chaz Mostert, Chris Pither, Brodie Kostecki and Mark Winterbottom have all crossed the finish line in every race this season.
DRIVERS WHO COMPLETED THE LEAST NUMBER OF RACES: Pye and Le Brocq
Nineteen drivers have recorded at least one DNF this season.
Despite starting all 34 races in 2022, Scott Pye and Jack Le Brocq have not reached the chequered flag on six occasions.
Thomas Randle has five DNF's this season, with the Tickford Racing rookie missing out on Race 23 due to his start-line collision with Andre Heimgartner in Race 22 at the OTR SuperSprint.
Heimgartner and Randle's teammate Jake Kostecki have four, with James Courtney, Jack Smith, and Bryce Fullwood on three.
The exception is PremiAir Racing's James Golding who replaced Garry Jacobson from the NTI Townsville 500.
Golding has completed 14 races from 16 starts this season.
NUMBER OF HOT LAPS COMPLETED BY RED BULL AMPOL RACING: 798
Along with fans being welcomed back to circuits across Australia this season, the fan-favourite Supercar hot laps also made a comeback.
The championship-winning Triple Eight Race Engineering completed five ride days in 2022, across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria.
Nearly 800 lucky fans and Triple Eight members enjoyed a flying lap this season, with 225 of them happening at Queensland Raceway in June.
NUMBER OF ACCREDITATIONS ISSUED IN 2022: 15,955
More than 15,000 people received accreditation for Supercars events in 2022.
Over 1600 people received series accreditation including Supercars employees, Media and TV, event staff, and Hall of Famers.
Of the events managed by Supercars, the most event-only accreditations issued were for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with 3662.
Interestingly, the Repco Bathurst 1000 was 600 people less with 3087.
NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS: 2853
More than 6000 people are currently ‘active’ in the Supercars volunteer database, dedicating their time to support live motorsport events.
More than 2800 of them attended events throughout 2022.
Event and race officials complete many different roles, from gatekeepers and fire and rescue marshals to accreditation and corporate attendants.
FASTEST PITSTOP OF 2022: 29 seconds
The fastest pit stop of 2022 belongs to the Shell V-Power Racing Team.
Race 11 at the Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight saw Will Davison's #17 Mustang complete a 29.818s stop on lap 23.
Davison scored Race 11 victory at Wanneroo Raceway, breaking a six-year winless drought.
EARLIEST RACE START OF 2022: 10:25am
The Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 had the earliest race start of the year, with Race 7 kicking off at 10:25am at Albert Park.
Shane van Gisbergen has won the chaotic sprint, which was shortened after two Safety Car periods.
LATEST RACE START OF 2022: 7:10pm
The opening race of the 2022 season was the latest, beginning under lights at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.
The 77-lap race kicked off at 7:10pm, with Shane van Gisbergen seeing the chequered flag just over two hours later.
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle next March.
