Bathurst stage set for crucial Dunlop Series races

The Dunlop Series are set to return to Mount Panorama for the second time this season at the upcoming Repco Bathurst 1000 in October.

The penultimate round of the 2024 Dunlop Series is set to be a pivotal juncture in the season, setting the stage for a blockbuster finale at the VAILO Adelaide 500.

Current series leader Kai Allen carries form into the Bathurst 1000 support races, winning both races at the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 in February.

Allen also won the Saturday race at last year's Bathurst 1000, and finished third on Friday in a race won by Aaron Love.

Super3 honours in February went to local driver and current points leader Cody Burcher, who calls neighbouring city Orange home.

The Dunlop Series is set for two practice sessions on Thursday, before both Friday and Saturday will feature both a qualifying session and a 100km race.

Both races are set to be the curtain-raisers for Supercars qualifying, with the 40-minute Boost Mobile Qualifying to follow Friday's race, and the Top Ten Shootout set to follow the Saturday race.

Seven drivers from the Super2 field will be performing double duties at Mount Panorama, co-driving in the main race on Sunday after completing their Super2 commitments.

Reigning Super2 champion Allen will be aboard the #17 DJR Ford alongside Will Davison, with Eggleston teammates Cooper Murray (#888 Triple Eight Chevrolet), and Cameron Crick (#4 MSR Chevrolet) also set to feature.

Other drivers who will feature in the 1000 include Aaron Cameron (#3 BRT Ford), Cameron McLeod (#23 PremiAir Chevrolet), Matt Chahda, and Brad Vaughan, both of whom will share a wildcard Matt Chahda Motorsport Chevrolet.
