Race 11 in Perth has been red-flagged after a heavy crash for Scott Pye.
Pye was sent into pit wall at the end of lap 1 after contact with Jack Le Brocq.
The race was neutralised behind the Safety Car before red flags flew on lap 3.
Cam Waters was leading at the time of the stoppage, having jumped pole-sitter Will Davison.
Pye's Team 18 Commodore sustained heavy front and rear damage.
The Team 18 driver was able to get out of his damaged car under his own power and walk back to pit lane.
The race was stopped due to damage which the impact caused to a gate along the pit wall.
Replays showed Le Brocq had an overlap, and Pye's turned across the front of the #34 Truck Assist Commodore.
Pye spun heavily into the pit wall and came to a rest.
"I’m fine, just disappointed,” said Pye, who conceded his day has come to a premature end.
"There must have been a slight overlap, it must have been rear quarter to front bar, like so small.
"Sometimes people forget they can lift as well, so I don’t know.
"I thought I was clear and tried to defend, but obviously I wasn’t, but f**k, he just didn’t lift.
"It was massive so we’re out today. That was such a big hit."
It is the second race in 2022 to be red-flagged due to a crash; coincidentally, it also involved Le Brocq.
A clash between Le Brocq and Andre Heimgartner halted Race 4 in Tasmania.
