Will Davison has been cleared by on-site medical staff after his heavy Friday qualifying crash in Bathurst, with Dick Johnson Racing and Team 18 repair efforts now underway.

Davison crashed at The Dipper towards the end of Boost Mobile Qualifying on Friday afternoon, following an earlier incident for David Reynolds.

At the time of publication, both cars had been stripped, with extensive damage forcing the teams into overnight repairs.

The race is now on for DJR and Team 18 to get both cars on track for Sunday’s race, with the Davison crash registering 58G.

Nick Percat came to Davison’s aid immediately after the crash, with the latter gingerly walking away from his Ford after it first hit the left-side wall, before sliding into the right-hand wall.

Davison was later cleared at the medical centre, led by Dr Carl Le, and later consoled team members as the damaged Mustang returned to the paddock.

There was a bright spot for DJR, with Anton De Pasquale reaching Saturday’s Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout after qualifying ninth.

Earlier, Reynolds came unstuck heading through The Esses, with the TRADIE Beer Chevrolet making heavy head-on contact with the concrete wall.

Two-time Bathurst pole winner Reynolds was on pace to reach Saturday's Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, sitting fourth at the time of his crash.

The front clip was quickly removed from the car after it returned to the Team 18 garage, with a new front clip required.

“The front clip's obviously destroyed and it's pushed the bottom leg back into the chassis a fair way," Team Manager Adrian Burgess said.

“The front has been stripped, engine's being fixed, the inlet system came off, that's been fixed, and we're currently just attempting to fix and stretch the chassis back. It will be a late night, but it's all fixable.”

It was another cruel blow at the Mountain for Team 18, with its 2023 efforts undone after Mark Winterbottom recorded a last-lap DNF after running short of fuel.

Reynolds and Winterbottom are set to share the 11th row of the grid for Sunday's race, with Reynolds losing his fastest lap due to causing the red flag.

Matt Payne claimed provisional pole in the session, with Cam Waters, Broc Feeney and Brodie Kostecki within 0.02s of the Penrite Racing driver.

Supercars will return to the track on Saturday morning, with co-driver only Practice 5 at 10:05am AEDT. Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are on sale now.
