Hill to remain with MSR through to 2025
Canberran joined the team this year with Le Brocq
26-year-old is 23rd in standings after eight rounds
Cameron Hill will remain with Matt Stone Racing until at least 2025 after signing a new multi-year deal with the team.
Hill, 26, joined the team this season after a single season racing Supercars machinery in the Dunlop Series.
The Canberran was pitted against veteran teammate Jack Le Brocq for 2023, with the latter impressing with a strong run of results, highlighted by a win in Darwin.
Le Brocq has since confirmed his defection to Erebus Motorsport in the place of Triple Eight-bound Will Brown, who is turn will replace Shane van Gisbergen.
News of Hill’s contract shores up one half of MSR’s driver line-up for 2024, with the team yet to announce Le Brocq’s replacement.
“To have a multi-year contract locked in is awesome. It’s really good for the mindset to know what the future holds,” Hill said.
"To have this locked in is great because you’re just starting to settle in and chip away at improving over time. It is the premier category of Australian motorsport — it will be good to have some runway in front of me to continue to climb up.
"I’m grateful to the team for putting its trust in me for the next few seasons and I want to reward that investment by lifting us both as high as we’ve ever been.
“I know my goals and what I want to achieve, Matt also has big targets as well. We’ve gelled well and together we see all these goals and targets as achievable.
“To get this confirmed prior to the biggest races of the season is awesome. There is already a lot of pressure that comes with the endurance races, so to not have that added external pressure of not knowing where you’re going to be next year is a really good thing."
Team owner Stone added: “It’s good to have Cam locked in for the next few seasons.
"We have been impressed by his progress over this year and he has proven himself as a valuable asset to our team, and really become part of the family here.
"We have seen him grow and develop as a driver, and we have no doubt that he has what it takes to race at the front of the Supercars field.
"This long-term commitment between MSR and Cam strengthens our combined vision for success and as a team we’ll continue to provide him with the resources and support necessary to continue on this upward trajectory together.”
Hill will race with Jaylyn Robotham in the #35 Truck Assist Camaro at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and Repco Bathurst 1000.
