Jayden Ojeda secures pre-Bathurst race start
Erebus Motorsport co-driver to race at Indianapolis 8 Hour
Ojeda to return alongside Jack Le Brocq in Bathurst
Erebus Motorsport co-driver Jayden Ojeda has secured pre-Bathurst laps with an Indianapolis 8 Hour cameo.
Ojeda, 25, is racing with Erebus alongside Jack Le Brocq at Supercars’ longest races.
The Sydneysider finished 20th at Sandown earlier this month, with the Le Brocq/Ojeda car running fourth in the closing laps before a collision.
Ojeda has been announced alongside fellow Aussie Kenny Habul and factory Mercedes-AMG driver Lucas Auer for the Indianapolis race.
The eight-hour GT3 enduro takes place on October 6 (AEST), one week before the Repco Bathurst 1000. The race is the final hit-out of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, and is also the final GT World Challenge America round.
Ojeda, Habul and Auer’s SunEnergy1 is one of five Mercedes-AMG GT3s entered in the 8 Hour, with three-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou included in the squad’s star-studded line-up.
Palou will race alongside Fabian Schiller and Luca Stolz, with another Pro entry to be spearheaded by Bathurst 12 Hour stars Jules Gounon, Maro Engel and Mikael Grenier.
Triple Eight Race Engineering will field another Aussie, Jordan Love, alongside Formula 2 driver Arjun Maini and Prince Jefri Ibrahim.
The Indianapolis 8 Hour will underway at 2:15am AEST on October 6, before Ojeda returns for the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 10-13.
