One of Australian motorsport's longest and most successful partnerships will be once again be to the fore at the weekend in Perth, when Dick Johnson Racing and Shell run a new livery on the #17 Wilson Security Ford Falcon.
DJR has enjoyed a relationship with the famous Shell brand for over 30 years and will again be part of a marketing program at a number of rounds of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship.
As the livery was completed at DJR on Wednesday, Team Principal Dick Johnson said, "There are guys here at DJR who were part of the fabulous era with the Shell Falcons and Sierras.
"We all were very proud to see the Shell Pecten back on the flanks of the #17 Falcon once again. It has been a great relationship over many, many years."
Shell Australia Country Chair Ann Pickard reflected on the history between the two ahead of the Perth event.
“Shell has a proud history of partnership with both Dick Johnson and Dick Johnson Racing, and we are excited to see more red and yellow on car 17," she said.
"We wish DJR well in Perth, and hope to see the team near the top of the grid.”
The new look DJR #17 will be piloted by Tim Blanchard and will be on track at Perth’s Barbagallo Raceway for first Practice on Friday May 3.
