Matthew Payne will make his Dunlop Super2 Series debut at this weekend’s Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.
The combined 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series and Dunlop Super3 Series season will resume at Sydney Motorsport Park across November 19-21.
The fourth round of the development series season will feature on the Supercars undercard at the Eastern Creek venue.
It comes after Payne was confirmed to complete the remaining two Super2 rounds for the Grove Junior Team last month.
The 19-year-old underwent a Supercars evaluation in September aboard a Kelly Grove Racing Nissan Altima. He also turned laps in one of the team's Ford Mustangs.
Payne will get behind the wheel of a Grove-prepared Altima, with a bumper 31-car combined grid confirmed for the penultimate round of the season.
The Kiwi teenager is yet to gain any Supercars experience; however, the door is ajar for him to join Kelly Grove Racing in 2022.
Kelly Grove incumbent Andre Heimgartner will move to Brad Jones Racing next season.
The teenager will likely need a dispensation to acquire a Motorsport Australia Superlicence if he can make the leap to the main game.
The karting prodigy won the 2021 Toyota Racing Series title, having claimed podiums in all nine races, including five wins.
Payne transitioned to tin tops in 2021, and his maiden Porsche Carrera Cup campaign has already featured pole positions and a win in Townsville.
Triple Eight Race Engineering teen Broc Feeney is the Super2 series leader heading into the weekend.
The 31-strong field will take to SMSP for a pair of 30-minute practice sessions on Friday, before returning on Saturday for qualifying. Check out the weekend schedule here.
The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume this weekend at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.
Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.
The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event.
Tickets for the event are on sale now.
