Tony Auddino will return to the Dunlop Series in Adelaide
Auddino swaps Holden Commodore for Ford Falcon
Auddino won Sandown round in Image Racing Holden
Tony Auddino has announced he will return to the Dunlop Series at the season-ending VAILO Adelaide 500, but is swapping a Holden Commodore for a Ford Falcon.
Auddino steered an Image Racing VF Commodore at the Perth and Sandown rounds this year, winning the latter round after Nissan duo Cody Burcher and Thomas Maxwell hit trouble.
He will be back in Adelaide for his third round appearance of 2024, albeit in a Ford. Auddino will race an ex-Stone Brothers Racing Falcon, which was raced to fifth in the 2012 Supercars Championship by Tim Slade.
Coincidentally, Slade will retire from full-time Supercars racing at the end of the current season.
"I am happy to announce we will be at the VAILO Adelaide 500 as part of the Super3 Dunlop Series," Auddino posted to social media.
"Unlike previous rounds, I will be driving the Image Racing FG Falcon instead of the VF Commodore.
"This marks the end of an era as it is the last round of the Dunlop series for 2024 and the last time an FG Falcon will be eligible for the competition.
"It is also significant as it is the car that Tim Slade debuted in for Stone Brothers Racing in 2012 and now in his last full-time appearance in the Supercars Championship.
"Unfortunately, it is likely to be our last Dunlop Series race, but we are grateful for the support of our sponsors and look forward to hitting the track."
Dunlop Series track action in Adelaide will commence with two practice sessions on Thursday November 14.
