After a five-year absence, Queensland Raceway will host Supercars and Dunlop Series in 2025, with the championship excited to head back to the "truly revitalised" venue.

Ipswich's Queensland Raceway has been included in an expanded 2025 Repco Supercars Championship calendar, which was announced on Friday.

It formally confirms the Queensland circuit's return to Supercars competition for the first time since 2019, with the venue undergoing a transformation after being taken over by motorsport businessman Tony Quinn in late 2021.

Queensland Raceway was a regular stop on the calendar from its debut in 1999, when it hosted both a sprint round and a 500km enduro.

However, it missed out in 2020 due to a desire to consolidate the calendar, and despite being a regular hotbed for testing, has had to wait for Supercars racing to return.

Quinn's influence has been crucial, with significant upgrades to the venue ensuring the racing and fan experience will be taken to a new level come August 8-10 next year.

The Ipswich round's inclusion also makes Queensland the most visited state by Supercars in 2025, alongside the Townsville and Gold Coast rounds.

"We’re incredibly excited to announce the return of the Ipswich event in 2025," Supercars CEO Shane Howard said.

"After a few years off the calendar, we know fans in south-east Queensland have been eager for its return.

"Queensland Raceway has had significant upgrades, and the August event will be one to mark in the calendar to attend at a truly revitalised venue.”

Two Quinn-owned circuits will now host Supercars, with Taupō returning in April after a sensational debut round earlier this year.

The 2025 season will run from February 21 to November 30, beginning with a twilight racing event at Sydney Motorsport Park, and ending in Adelaide.

On expanding the calendar, RACE Chairman Barclay Nettlefold added: “Expanding the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship was a key priority for us, and it’s something fans have been asking for over the last few years.

"Adding the 13th event is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to growing the sport and providing more opportunities for fans to engage with Supercars in different locations."

The 2025 race formats, television schedule and support category details will be announced in coming days leading into this year’s Great Race, the Repco Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama from 10-13 October.

Tickets are still available through Supercars.com for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 1000. A waiting list for fans wanting to secure tickets to 2025 Repco Supercars Championship events can be found by clicking here.
