Onboard vision details final lap collision
Andre Heimgartner turned Mark Winterbottom at Turn 4
Heimgartner handed 15-second penalty over incident
Onboard vision has detailed the contact that saw Andre Heimgartner hit with a 15-second penalty over a final-lap clash with Mark Winterbottom in Tasmania.
Winterbottom and Heimgartner commenced the final lap of Saturday's race in 13th and 14th, trailing Bryce Fullwood, Ryan Wood and Thomas Randle.
Onboard footage from Supercars' judicial cameras shows Heimgartner going down the inside of Winterbottom into the infamous hairpin, with Winterbottom turned around.
Winterbottom dropped behind Anton De Pasquale, James Golding, Will Davison, Richie Stanaway and Matt Payne, crossing the line in 19th.
Heimgartner was later hit with a 15-second penalty, dropping the Brad Jones Racing driver from 13th at the chequered flag to 22nd in the final results.
"I got crashed into at the hairpin at the end," said Winterbottom, who dropped from 14th to 16th in the championship.
"We're still good enough for top 10, but if we started where we should have qualified it would have been a different day."
Heimgartner saw a silver lining with improved race pace, but rued the penalty: "I'm feeling a little bit better today. The car's a bit speedy.
"Enjoyed the race, made lots of good passes, and unfortunately, me and Winterbottom had a bit of a tangle at the end and got a penalty. But on the plus side the car was really speedy, so feel like we had something for once."
BJR teammate Jaxon Evans also incurred a 15-second penalty over a clash with Jack Le Brocq, with Le Brocq and Evans classified 23rd and 24th.
