With Sydney coming up, Supercars.com breaks down each team and where the battles are

We're halfway there in 2024, and we have a firm championship picture as we head into the business end of the Repco Supercars Championship season.

Through 14 races, we've had seven different race winners from six teams, seven different pole-sitters from six teams, and 11 drivers have stood on the podium.

Some drivers have the wood over their teammates over one lap, while others are superior in race trim. At the pointy end, Will Brown has Broc Feeney covered in the races, but the latter still has the edge in qualifying.

What about the rest? With Sydney coming up, Supercars.com breaks down each team and where the battles are. Tickets for the Sydney event are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.

Race head-to-heads don't include races where one or both drivers from the same team recorded a DNF or DNS.

Red Bull Ampol Racing

Qualifying head to head: Broc Feeney 9, Will Brown 5

Best qualifying result: 1st (Broc Feeney 3 poles, Will Brown 1 pole)

Race head to head: Will Brown 8, Broc Feeney 6

Best race result: 1st (Broc Feeney 5 wins, Will Brown 3 wins)

A double Townsville qualifying disaster for Will Brown has seen Broc Feeney take the ascendancy when it comes to average grid position (4.51 versus 5.57). Brown, however, still has the edge in the races, taking the head-to-head to 8-5 before he crashed in the Townsville race, the first major hiccup for either Triple Eight driver.

Walkinshaw Andretti United

Qualifying head to head: Chaz Mostert 13, Ryan Wood 1

Best qualifying result: 1st (Chaz Mostert 2 poles)

Race head to head: Chaz Mostert 10, Ryan Wood 2

Best race result: 1st (Chaz Mostert, Perth Race 9)

Chaz Mostert is leading the way for the Walkinshaw squad, with Ryan Wood still finding his feet as a rookie. Mostert has the team's only poles and podiums of the season, but Wood showed what he is made of with a maiden front row in Perth, and impressive drives into the top 10 in New Zealand, Perth and Townsville. If not for the double DNF in Bathurst, Wood would likely be vying for a spot in the top 10 in the championship.

Tickford Racing

Qualifying head to head: Cam Waters 10, Thomas Randle 4

Best qualifying result: 1st (Cam Waters 4 poles)

Race head to head: Cam Waters 9, Thomas Randle 4

Best race result: 1st (Cam Waters 2 wins)

Cam Waters has hit strong form since his disastrous first two rounds, scoring the second most points across the New Zealand, Perth, Darwin and Townsville rounds (only Brown has been better). In that time, Waters has claimed four poles and two wins, and was the class of the field in Townsville. Thomas Randle has five top five finishes and 10th overall, pushing Tickford to third in teams', just five points behind Walkinshaw Andretti United.

Penrite Racing

Qualifying head to head: Matt Payne 13, Richie Stanaway 1

Best qualifying result: 1st (Matt Payne 2 poles)

Race head to head: Matt Payne 8, Richie Stanaway 5

Best race result: 1st (Matt Payne, Townsville Race 14)

Richie Stanaway started off well in Bathurst, but it has been all Matt Payne since, with the young Kiwi taking two poles and a win in Townsville. Stanaway is only 91 points behind Payne in the championship, with both drivers part of a tightly-bunched logjam. In any one race, both drivers could change positions. Can Stanaway fight back in the second half of the year?

Shell V-Power Racing Team

Qualifying head to head: Anton De Pasquale 8, Will Davison 6

Best qualifying result: 2nd (Anton De Pasquale, AGP Race 3)

Race head to head: Will Davison 7, Anton De Pasquale 4

Best race result: 2nd (Will Davison, Taupō Race 7)

It hasn't been Anton De Pasquale's year, with the #11 driver suffering a DNF and DNS in Melbourne, and a DNF in Townsville. De Pasquale had Will Davison's measure in qualifying in the first three rounds, but Davison has out-qualified De Pasquale in five of the last six sessions. Davison is seven positions and 110 points up the road on his younger teammate.

Team 18

Qualifying head to head: David Reynolds 7, Mark Winterbottom 7

Best qualifying result: 3rd (Mark Winterbottom, Darwin Race 11)

Race head to head: Mark Winterbottom 8, David Reynolds 6

Best race result: 2nd (Mark Winterbottom, AGP Race 4 & Darwin Race 11)

David Reynolds started off with two top 10s in Bathurst, but has managed four in the subsequent 12 races. It has been a tale of two stories for Mark Winterbottom, who claimed podiums in Melbourne and Darwin, but otherwise has an average finish of 13.9. All told, Winterbottom is only 23 points ahead of Reynolds.

Matt Stone Racing

Qualifying head to head: Nick Percat 7, Cameron Hill 7

Best qualifying result: 4th (Cameron Hill, Bathurst 500 Race 1 & Nick Percat, AGP Race 6)

Race head to head: Nick Percat 8, Cameron Hill 5

Best race result: 1st (Nick Percat, AGP Race 6)

Nick Percat has also been on a rollercoaster, winning in Melbourne before dropping from fourth to ninth overall after a nightmarish Townsville. It was in Townsville where Cameron Hill reaching the top 10 in both races, with the second-year driver split with Percat in the qualifying stakes.

Erebus Motorsport

Qualifying head to head: Jack Le Brocq 6, Brodie Kostecki 6, Todd Hazelwood 2

Best qualifying result: 1st (Jack Le Brocq, Townsville Race 14)

Race head to head: Jack Le Brocq 8, Todd Hazelwood 2, Brodie Kostecki 1

Best race result: 3rd (Brodie Kostecki, Darwin Race 12)

Jack Le Brocq has flown under the radar this season, and was rewarded with a pole position in Townsville. Le Brocq is just 98 points behind Waters for fourth. While we can't forget Todd Hazelwood's efforts in the first two rounds, it's hard to ignore what has proven a torrid title defence for Brodie Kostecki, who aside from his Darwin podium, has results of 13th, 14th, 22nd, DNF, DNS, 19th and 18th.

PremiAir Nulon Racing

Qualifying head to head: James Golding 8, Tim Slade 6

Best qualifying result: 1st (James Golding, Darwin Race 11)

Race head to head: James Golding 7, Tim Slade 6

Best race result: 4th (James Golding, Darwin Race 11 & Darwin Race 12)

At first glance at the head-to-head stakes, it seems Tim Slade is neck-and-neck with James Golding. However, races in 2024 just haven't gone Slade's way, with the veteran down in 20th. Golding is 14 positions up the road in sixth, and has a pole and four top fives already to his name in what is proving a career-best campaign.

Brad Jones Racing

Qualifying head to head: Andre Heimgartner 9, Bryce Fullwood 5

Best qualifying result: 3rd (Andre Heimgartner, Taupō Race 7)

Race head to head: Andre Heimgartner 9, Bryce Fullwood 3, Jaxon Evans 2

Best race result: 1st (Andre Heimgartner, Taupō Race 7)

Andre Heimgartner's stunning win in Taupō is well and truly Brad Jones Racing's highlight for 2024, with the Albury team battling for consistency. Bryce Fullwood is 19th in the points after opening the year with a seventh in Bathurst, while rookie Jaxon Evans scored his first top 10 in New Zealand.

Blanchard Racing Team

Qualifying head to head: James Courtney 11, Aaron Love 3

Best qualifying result: 3rd (James Courtney, Townsville Race 14)

Race head to head: James Courtney 7, Aaron Love 6

Best race result: 6th (James Courtney, Perth Race 9)

James Courtney is showing the way for the Blanchard squad, scoring top 10s in Melbourne and Perth, and a shock run to third in the Townsville Shootout. Rookie Aaron Love has yet to produce a big result, with his best a 12th in Melbourne.
