Tickford takes early lead in PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge

Ford team leads after first sprint round

Tickford Racing has taken an early lead in the 2022 PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge.

The Ford team left the first SuperSprint round of the season in the lead ahead of Brad Jones Racing.

The crew on the #55 and #56 executed the quickest stop in Race 3 on Jake Kostecki's car.

Tickford's #5 and #6 crew also clocked the quickest stop for Cam Waters in Race 5.

No points were awarded for Race 4, which featured the BP Ultimate Safety Car following Le Brocq's crash.

BJR are the three-time defending champions of the Pit Stop Challenge, and is just one point behind.

Matt Stone Racing managed to end the weekend in third despite working overtime to repair Jack Le Brocq's damaged car.

The Dick Johnson Racing team crew is fourth, with the top four teams earning a semi-final berth at season's end.

The 2022 Pit Stop Challenge will continue at next weekend's Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 at Albert Park.

Perth, Winton, Darwin, Tailem Bend, Sandown and Pukekohe comprise the rest of the challenge.

Teams will go head to head in pursuit of $20,000 and the coveted 'Golden Rattle Gun Trophy'.

The live finals will be held at October's Repco Bathurst 1000.

The 2022 season will resume at Albert Park on April 7-10.
