As 2024 winds down, Supercars.com is ranking the top 10 drivers of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, continuing with Cam Waters, who comes in as our #3.
Cam Waters ended 2024 with a career-best four wins, a season-high seven pole positions, and was only out-scored by champion Will Brown from Perth onwards.
That tells the story of Waters' season, which started poorly, before gaining serious momentum. While the championship and Bathurst eluded him once again, the Tickford Racing driver proved he is one of Supercars' elite.

Why we picked him
Waters is a force over one lap, pushing his career tally to 29 pole positions. Heading into 2025, he is already 10th all-time on the pole winners' list, and is expected to keep climbing. When the planets align in the races too, he is brilliant, controlling the final in Perth, and dominating in Tasmania and Surfers Paradise. Most importantly, he is making it work after getting his elbows out, famously beating Chaz Mostert in Townsville. Make no mistake, on his day, Waters is the best out there.
What we expect next season
You won't win championships if you're 388 points down after Round 3. That was the case for Waters, who had a shocking start to the year, before getting it together. The Ford star traditionally starts new campaigns on the back foot, so the immediate focus for Tickford is making sure he doesn't slip up in 2025. When Mark Winterbottom joins for the enduros, Waters could well be in position to end both his Bathurst and championship ducks.
