The LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour will, for the first time, feature former Supercars main game machinery.

It was confirmed Tuesday that V8 Touring Cars (Super3) will be eligible for the Invitational Class.

The addition of the ex-Supercars comes with support from V8 Touring Cars category managers, ARG and Supercars.

Commodores and Falcons currently eligible to compete in the Dunlop Super3 Series will feature in the May event.

Eligible cars are pre-Car of the Future Holden Commodores (up to VEII) and Ford Falcons (FG).

The ex-Supercars will go up against the likes of MARC Cars and GTC vehicles.

This year’s 12 Hour features a new class structure, with the 2022 event's top class being Pro-Am.

A Supercar in the 12 Hour is nothing new; a former Garry Rogers Motorsport Commodore was steered to Invitational victory in 2013.

The minimum lap time for. Invitational cars has risen to 2:06s for this year's event.

The 2022 event will also feature the earliest ever race start time of 5:15am AEST.

The 2023 event will return to its traditional February slot.

The full weekend schedule for the 2022 event will be released soon. Tickets for the 2022 12 Hour are on sale now.

Super2 and Super3 cars will return to the grid for the upcoming Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight. Tickets are on sale now.
