Richie Stanaway will keep his Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout berth after being cleared over an alleged impeding incident in Bathurst qualifying.

Brad Jones Racing alleged the Penrite Racing driver impeded Bryce Fullwood, who will start 24th for Sunday’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

Fullwood caught Stanaway across the top of the Mountain, with the BJR driver claiming Stanaway was "was parked at the apex."

"We were on a really good lap to put us around the 10/11 or something like that and then got to McPhillamy Park and Stanaway was parked at the apex and I had to run off the track to avoid him,” Fullwood said.

"There was no yellow flags or anything and so just destroyed my lap. Now we're at the back. So unfortunate. I feel like every time we come to this place, it's tough for us to qualify.

"And it's just a little bit of a difficult pill to swallow, because we actually had speed here this time and didn't didn't get to show it. We're starting at the back.

"So onto race car prep for tomorrow, and a long day on Sunday.”

The stewards report reads: "Following the Session the DRD in consultation with the DSA conducted an investigation at the request of Brad Jones Racing into an allegation that Car 26, Richie Stanaway, impeded Car 14, Bryce Fullwood, at Turn 8 on the final lap of the Session.

"After a review of available evidence, the DRD determined that no breach of the Rules could be established and therefore the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards."

Stanaway will be first driver out in Saturday’s Shootout, with teammate Matt Payne claiming provisional pole in the dramatic session.

Supercars will return to the track on Saturday morning, with co-driver only Practice 5 at 10:05am AEDT. Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are on sale now.
