Tickford finished second in 2024 teams' championship
Cam Waters, Thomas finished fourth, fifth in drivers' standings
Tickford achieved highest teams' finish since 2015
Tickford Racing's decision to downscale to two cars for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship has paid immediate dividends, with the team reaching its best result for nearly a decade.
Cam Waters and Thomas Randle finished fourth and fifth in the drivers' championship, with the duo combining for four wins, eight poles and 11 podiums.
The Ford squad clinched second in the teams' championship, marking Tickford's best result since 2015, the year it won the drivers' title with Mark Winterbottom.
While Waters enjoyed a career-best four-win haul, Randle also impressed, jumping from 13th in 2023 to fifth in 2024.
In the years since, Tickford has finished third (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) and fourth (2016, 2023).
For team owner Rob Nash, it was a sign that Tickford is moving in the right direction, with the the focus on two cars key to the team's rise up the leaderboard.
"It takes so much preparation from every single person in this team — drivers, engineers, mechanics, and more — to get to this point. It’s been an incredible year," Nash said.
“We’ve had three front-row lockouts this season, which is a huge achievement. It’s not about bragging rights; it’s about setting ourselves up for success.
"Having two cars allowed us to pool resources and focus closely on both drivers. Thomas really stepped up this year, working closely with Cam, and they’ve both driven brilliantly.
"We’re positioned well for 2025, but we know we need to stay sharp — Finals next year are going to bring even more excitement, and it’ll come down to the wire. I’m incredibly proud of the team, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us.”
Waters and Randle will commence their 2025 campaigns at the opening round in Sydney on February 21-23.
