The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship officially kicks off at this weekend’s Castrol EDGE Townsville 400.
In a win for fans, Virgin Australia recently announced a five-year naming rights partnership with Supercars. The V8 Supercars Championship will become known as the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
As the naming rights partner, Virgin Australia will carry 26 drivers and their support staff from the 12 teams together with thousands of fans around the country each year through its new travel platform Virgin Australia Supercars Travel.
Virgin Australia Supercars Travel packages include return airfares with Virgin Australia, accommodation and a choice of trackside passes to races which take place in each state and the Northern Territory across ten months of the year. Packages can be booked at: www.virginaustralia.com/supercarstravel
Supercars CEO James Warburton said the partnership with Virgin Australia was a major endorsement of the sport.
“We are focused on delivering a first class experience for our fans and this is a big win for our fans who fly thousands of kilometres every year across the country.
“Supercars generate $250 million in economic and tourism benefits to the cities and regions we visit in every state and territory and Virgin Australia will play a vital role in continuing to drive this growth.”
The Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 will be broadcast today on Fox Sports, Network Ten and WIN TV in regional areas. Check local guides or the TV schedule for more for details.
