Longtime partner of the late Peter Brock, Beverley Brock, has passed away aged 77.
The matriarch of the Brock family succumbed to cancer at her home in Melbourne, surrounded by her family, early on Sunday morning. She is survived by three children and seven grandchildren.
Born in Western Australia, Bev was a former teacher, life counsellor, an author, a passionate environmentalist and road safety advocate.
But she was probably best known as Bevo, the backbone of Peter and his stature in the motorsport world from 1978.
She was the constant presence in the pits whenever he raced for around 28 years, often while lap charting Peter’s races in the early days and then organising the giant signing sessions for his fans in the later days.
‘Bevo’ as she was affectionately known, lived a life dedicated to others and was involved with a number of charities including the Brock Foundation. It was aimed at disadvantaged youth and others that experienced difficulties.
Over recent years she focused her time and passion on The Skyline Foundation, Melbourne Rotary, Public speaking and her ever expanding family.
She fought her cancer diagnosis for two years, maintaining close contact with her giant circle of friends and offering advice and support despite her own illness.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: “From all at Supercars our thoughts are with the Brock family and all of Bev’s many friends at this time.”
The Brock Family posted the below to social media this morning:
Beverley Brock

Two years after her stage 4 cancer diagnosis, Beverley Brock OAM passed away at home early Sunday morning.
Born on January 15th, 1947 just outside of Perth, W.A, she was one of 7 kids. Bev studied education, going on to teach science and home economics. With her first husband, James McIintosh, she had a son, James and later had two more children, Robert and Alexandra with her partner, Peter Brock.
Bev was a dedicated parent, always making time to make a costume for a play or help out on a school camp. She dedicated her life to helping Peter’s racing career taking on multiple roles, all met with skill, smarts and purpose. Beverley was also involved with multiple charities earning her an Order of Australia in 2016. Over the last few years she focused her time and passion on The Skyline Foundation, Melbourne Rotary, Public speaking and her ever expanding family.
She leaves behind her three children, 7 cherished grandchildren and a host of loved ones she wrapped into her life as though they were her own.
Her loss will be immense as her presence, wisdom and support can never be matched.
Memorial service to be announced.
